How We Fight Scammers
Industry-leading verification systems to protect you from scammers
GPS Location Verification
Every listing requires real GPS coordinates. We verify that the location is within 50km of the claimed city. Overseas scammers cannot fake their location.
Phone Number Verification
Users must verify their Sri Lankan phone number (+94) with a one-time code. Prevents fake accounts and ensures real users.
Email Verification
Double verification with email OTP codes. Users must verify both email and phone to be fully verified members.
AI Content Moderation
Google Gemini AI scans all listings for scam indicators, inappropriate content, and suspicious patterns.
Safety Guidelines for Users
DO: Best Practices

- ✓Use secure payment methods (cash in person, bank transfers with ID)
- ✓Check GPS-verified location badge on listings

- ✓Trust your instincts - if it feels wrong, walk away
DON'T: What to Avoid
- ✗Never send money before seeing the item or service
- ✗Don't meet at isolated or private locations
- ✗Avoid wire transfers, Western Union, or cryptocurrency for unknown sellers
- ✗Don't share personal banking details or passwords
- ✗Never accept checks or money orders from unknown buyers
- ✗Don't fall for "too good to be true" deals
- ✗Avoid sellers who refuse to meet in person or video call
- ✗Don't ignore red flags or warning signs
Warning Signs of Scams
Be alert to these common scammer tactics
Urgent Pressure
Scammers create fake urgency: "Only today!", "First come gets it", "My phone is broken, use WhatsApp only"
Upfront Payment
Requests for deposit, shipping fees, or "verification fees" before you see the item are red flags
No Location Verification
If a listing doesn't have a GPS-verified location badge, be extra cautious. Ask to meet in person.
Communication Outside Platform
Scammers try to move conversations off the platform quickly. Keep records of all communications.
Fake Verification
Scammers may claim to be "verified" or show fake documents. Always verify in person and check the actual verification badges.
Too Good to Be True
Brand new iPhone for Rs. 10,000? Luxury car for half price? If the deal seems impossible, it probably is.

If you encounter a suspicious listing, scammer, or safety concern, please report it immediately. We investigate all reports and take action to protect our community.
